Covenant Solar Car is dedicated to providing education to students in the areas of Mechanical, Electric, and Computer Engineering, as well as CAD Design & 3D Modeling, Aerodynamics, Project Management, Radio Communications, and Fundraising in a hands-on environment.
The Covenant Solar Car Club is an independent 501(c)3 parent led hands-on engineering project that allows students to design, construct, and race a solar electric vehicle in a highly environment with participating teams in the Solar Car Challenge. This program allows students to develop skills in the areas of project management, engineering, fabrication, testing, and competitive racing in a highly collaborative team environment.
We take a project management approach to planning out the new year.
New designs for the year always incorporate a competitive analysis and a proper scope statement.
Implementation is always hands-on with every student involved at every stage.
Changes are always tested to know our engineering efforts perform as planned prior to the competition.
All our students share a passion for racing, the thrill of competition, and winning while collaborating and helping all involved.
It takes teamwork to do what we do and we encourage it from students and parents alike.
We strip down the car(s) from prior years and start from scratch with a new plan developed by the students.
Data is collected at every stage of the process on our car as well as that of the competition to set achievable goals.
Implementation through construction of a new design is a step in the process. Testing changes in an iterative process is imperitive to success.
Throughout the process various applied sciences are incorporated to build a winning team. None of these are more important than the different areas of engineering incorporated into the design / build process.
We’re happy to answer any questions you may have and there’s no question too small. Feel free to reach out to us anytime.
